Full Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Truck Driver to join our dynamic construction team. This essential position involves transporting equipment, heavy machinery, and construction materials to and from job sites, ensuring all deliveries are handled efficiently and in compliance with safety regulations. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, adaptable to a changing schedule, and committed to maintaining a high standard of vehicle operation and maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating commercial vehicles, with experience in the construction or heavy civil industry preferred.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screening and maintain a valid DOT medical card.
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations, load securement standards, and MSHA/OSHA safety protocols.
  • Experience with various vehicle types, including dump trucks, flatbeds, lowboys, and belly/side dumps.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, and potentially travel overnight to various job sites.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills.

Duties

  • Safely operate commercial vehicles, including heavy and tractor-trailer trucks, to transport materials and equipment to and from construction sites.
  • Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, documenting and reporting any mechanical issues to maintenance personnel.
  • Ensure all loads are properly secured with appropriate straps, chains, and signage to comply with safety regulations.
  • Collaborate effectively with dispatchers, project managers, and on-site crews to coordinate timely deliveries and manage changing project needs.
  • Maintain accurate driver logs, trip sheets, and delivery records, including fuel receipts and mileage.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of materials and occasionally operate small construction equipment as needed.
  • Keep the assigned vehicle and associated equipment in a clean and organized condition.
  • Follow company policies and safety procedures at all times while demonstrating a professional and respectful attitude.

Compensation

Starting Wage:
$24/hr
